Driveshaft removal 1983 124

So my driveshaft repair kit got in today and I'm about to begin disassembling the driveshaft and was curious where I should start from. Any particular tips or techniques on how to disassemble the driveshaft?

If you are not replacing the guibo, then i would start from the rear axle and disconnect it. Then unbolt the pillow block and pull the splines out of the front. When you disassemble the 2 pieces, mark the orientation of both pieces so they go back together the same way.

I'm replacing the guibo, both u-joints, and the center bearing. Should I begin disassembly by disconnecting the end of the driveshaft closest to the rear axel first? Or should start near the guibo, behind the tranny?

It doesn't matter where you start. BUT BE SURE AND MARK IT. IT WILL COME APART IN THREE PIECES. MARK ALL THREE.
