I sell a stainless steel pipe that has the correct angle on it, just bolt it on and never worry about it rusting out

Mark's custom pipe is the way to go. Here's a less-expensive alternative, not quite as good:

Hi, I posted this question on another thread but this one has the excellent photo of the new valve in place. I am about install the core with new valve attached (identical the photo above) and noticed that the valve sitting in the closed position has the switch towards the clamp that the cable attaches to. So the cable has to push against the spring in the valve to open it. This is the opposite way around to how the original valve worked. Just wondering if anyone has had issues with the cable being harder to use? and/or have I just missed something blindingly obvious.

I just installed my new valve and stainless short pipe, and have the same question about the cable.

First of all, the cable has a round link that slipped over the old valve's circular post. The new valve has a flat tab so the cable won't like to stay on. Anyone have an explanation or picture of how you secured the cable to actuate the new style valve?

It says on because the sheath is held at a certain angle where it is fixed to the valve's body.

Hi, yes when I put mine in there is a screw with a clip that clamps the sheath onto the body of the heater valve that holds the cable in place. From memory I used the screw and clip from the old valve, I could probably get under the dash and grab a photo. Let me know if you still need it

I just did this operation and wow, was it a pain in the ass. It's a straight forward thing...take it out, put it back in...but fighting against the dash, the rat's nest of wiring, the tight space, etc made it a very bruising job. I ordered the kit from Auto Ricambi...came with the short pipe, but not the longer one...luckily, I was able to reuse the one that was on there after cleaning it up.

It's all back together now, but I was unable to get the rear clips back on the heater box...it all seems solid, but I just couldn't get them to go. Is this going to be an issue?
