Rear suspension bushing replacement

Post by njoconnor »

Some time early in the new year I'm tackling the suspension on Blue 72. Intention right now is to do shocks, springs, control arms, and replace all the bushings in the rear. Any thoughts/suggestions on the rear bushing work? Rear axle supported or hanging? Order of work (long vs short arms first)? Been poring over garion's and Jay's photos and threads....thanks, guys! Very encouraging!!

Thanks. Still headscratching the budget over Koni's vs KYB's.

Support the rear end with jack stands and remove one arm at a time. Doesn't really make much difference which one you start with. Good luck!

On the trailing arms, I found it easier to do the axle end first and (with the axle supported on a trolley jack that you can slightly raise/lower easily) the forward body mounting point second.

My 2c.
