If and when I can't spare the time...Does anyone know of a good, experienced Spider mechanic in the SF Bay Area? The closer to Berkeley the better. I saw a place called Joe's Fiat, but it's in Santa Cruz. Foreign Auto is in Fremont...
Would any good mechanic be able to handle: timing, centrifugal and vacuum advance, and FI fuel mixture? (Of course I'd prefer someone tuned in to the nuances of the Spider.)
Thanks.

Take a look at Wine Country Motors
Re: Spider Mechanic near Berkeley?
Thanks everyone. I didn't get down to Campbell (50 min south) or up to Wine Country Motors (50 min north), but I will keep them in mind and inside the cover of my manual.
See my post on Fried Cat, but I went to John Holleran at Berkeley Motor Works (owner is Mike; shop is in Albany right next to Berkeley). As you can tell from the B-M-W, it's primarily a German car place, but I was told John is a bit of a magician and an honest one at that. Sure enough, he solved my interesting puzzle (the story might be of interest to all Spider owners - see that post). So I'm a happy cruiser once again.
Here's to more classics on the road!
