Hood Liners?
So what are you folks doing for hood liners these days? I think the stock felt is terrible, it fits poorly, needs the clips, sags and makes dust and is generally undesirable to me. Pics of other options?

Re: Hood Liners?
Thanks, great leads. My original felt liner is a mess and really looks bad. I have used spray adhesive in a dozen places to try to keep it in place. A real mess.

ORDER YOUR HOODLINER HERE!!
Hoodliners.net is currently ON-HOLD due to my stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in February 2013 and since then have been on I.V. chemotherapy treatments. The unfortunate side effects are that I get very weak and tired, dizzy, nauseous and without any desire or ambition to do anything. I.V. chemotherapy uses chemicals designed to attack and kill the cancerous cells but unfortunately the chemicals don't just attack the bad cancer cells, they kill all the good cells too. This is what causes the sickness and weakness. I don't know if medical science is at the point where they can come up with a chemotherapy that attacks only the bad cancerous cells while leaving good cells alone, and maintaining effectiveness.
It's been determined that my pancreatic cancer is due to genetics, my mother passed away from
it in early October 2013. Three months later I started showing symptoms of it. After a battery
of tests it was discovered in February 2013 at stage 4, meaning it was also evident in other organs.
I am driven and determined to totally eradicate this cancer from me as I have a young family and many obligations to them. I do have a positive attitude and have not "shut-down" or withdrawn due to my diagnosis. Along with my medical treatments I am aware of herbal and organic remedies and am also trying them. I do take an herbal supplement called "Essiac" as well as others, including vitamins and minerals. I also take care to keep myself oxygenated and maintaining a higher PH.
Hoodliners.net is a company of one guy, being myself. I fabricate the hoodliners myself by hand,
and it requires a lot of standing and reaching. Due to my condition I can't stand for very long
periods, which explains why I am on-hold. I do plan on re-starting my business eventually so that
I may be of service to the many car owners who are anxiously awaiting my return!

Re: Hood Liners?
I had some luck using a high temp 400 degree rubber coating paint right on top of the old liner. a few coats to the proper molding shape with some new clips. Has not sagged in a fee years since I did it and the surface can be wiped clean. The old liner was in bad shape so nothing ventured nothing gained.

Re: Hood Liners?
Roller, the paint is just a year old so hasnt had much of a test, but so far seeing no signs of fast aging. In arizona i'm not convinced i am doing myself a favor with a liner as the sun pounding down on a black metal surface with insulation on the back side would hold more heat. I've never had a spider with a liner.

Re: Hood Liners?
Hmmm.... Interesting. And in AZ I would expect that things get pretty hot either way! So I am wondering if I should just pull the damned liner and have the underside repainted. I have this nagging need to keep the car near original condition though, at least as far as having as many of the original parts in it, even if I change their color, configuration (like my custom ground pods) etc.
TX82: Could you post a pic of what the rubber paint coating looks like on your felt liner? I haven't heard of that solution before. I bet there are quite a few members here who would like to see how that turned out, myself included!

For some strange reason the images to my one drive are not posting through to the site. Please use the URL link below. Not the best pick but as you can see it looks stock. It is still in great shape after 3 years.
