Radiator Hoses With Coils - Specifically Lower

Post by jimmycakes401 »

So, if you're read my threads you know my lower coolant hoses collapsed. I'm trying to get to the bottom of it, but since my hoses tore, I'll need to replace them. Currently they are back ordered at most of the main sites. I wouldn't mind replacing my lower with the coiled type that won't collapse. Does anyone have a source that will fit a spider? Can I even cut them to length? I did find this site, but I would hate to order them to find out they don't fit right. 26" is definitely too long.

I've seen that, but I was thinking more along the lines of the rubber ribbed variety. Cheaper and achieves the same result. I just wonder if you can cut the rubber ones and clamp them on or if you have to buy that exact length so you have the cuffs.

The rubber one I posted above is like $8... and is supposedly for a 124, but seems way too long.

Topless: Too pricey. I have other things that need the $$ like my rear shocks that need repalcing.

4Uall: Thanks man. Didn't think they sold the flex hose there. I'll check it out. I also saw some springs that I could buy OEM style and shove in the standard hoses, but since that bottom one is tough to find right now, I'd like a "quick fix" just to get her back on the road.

If you look a bit closer on the Rock Auto site, they list a Dayco 81041 flex hose which measures 1-1/4" ID x 14 3/4" long. That ought to work fine. If you want a shorter hose 13" long, go with a Gates 25251 also sold on the same site.
