I am so fed up with this bullshit. I will use these mounts instead.

Jay,
did you try assembly them in reversed order ?
first the shock to the stand, unfit to the A arm, and then the stand to the arm ?
I'm pretty sure it would fit on the side you show us on the photo, but maybe on the nut side it will we more difficult.

or did you try an allen head bolt, as they are smaller than regular ?
have the opposite nut being welded on the opposite, prior to anything, so you don't have to worry about it and you then just work with your allen bolt.
Am I clear on this ?

bon courage

Thanks/Merci I did try and it makes no difference as the nuts of the mounting threads touch each time. Do not have the resources to weld. Thinking these products should work without modifications etc. Going to use the original shock mount (the one that did not fit the shock see above post LMFAO!).

Thanks to those who came before me  I was actually able to get the sway bar in with new bushings all by myself (best advice is two words......................C clamp) Installed all new suspensions etc (3rd time). Waiting for bodywork to be completed, then alignment and she will be good to go for the season........................or until the next improvement/tinkering

Darned good thing for you the season starts so late in Ottawa, Jay - with all of the problems you've had. Yet another sunny 18º C day here today. Spent so much time getting my boat ready for a 3 day fishing trip tomorrow I didn't have chance to get the Fiat out. Oh well, there's always next week...

Picked up Fiona yesterday afternoon, all repaired and aligned. Best drive home ever  Just need to tighten up the drivers side shock (any tips on getting into the smallest area ever to tighten the top nuts) and then oil change :D

Here is my current list:

Replace Upper & Lower control arms
Recondition all brake calipers
Replace all rubber brake hoses
Replace Front Sway Bar bushings
Replace Fuel Pump/Filter
Clean & paint coil springs

As always I will keep the progress posted with photos along the way. Feel free to make/add any suggestions

Replaced upper & lower control arms too many times
Only did front brakes(for now)
Sway bar bushings were a new swear word a minute challenge
Yet to put in the new filter and pump
Cleaned both, only painted one (due to weather)

All in all, it was a great learning experience

THE END

I know this is an *ancient* thread, but can you tell me more about how you painted your coil springs? What did you use, would you do it again? Thanks!
