I put them on mine and they lowered each corner about an inch or so. They're a progressive type spring which if you believe the claim allows a softer ride with normal driving and more aggressive feel if you are stomping the car. I personally like them.
My computer with all my pictures crashed, so other than my avatar I don't have anything to post.

I hope your front bumpstops are trimmed. If the upper a-arms constantly hits them the body will start stresscracking. Guess how I know...

Here is my 82 with IAP perf. springs.I tucked the tube bumpers in rather than removing themI have 15'' wheels on mine,so I thought I would throw it out there.I dont think the IAP springs lower the car as much as some others, although the pic is a little decieving as the car is sitting on a incline.

I was going to post the same link Redline. I really want to lower my car, but after reading the Turbo124 post I'm reconsidering.

Anyone have any issues or regrets?

It's probably worth noting that the US Spiders are a lot higher than the Australian Coupes, so also take the info from that forum article with some context. The US cars had to meet bumper and headlight height regulations, so they were bumped up a bit (like the contemporary MGBs). Probably they can tolerate an inch less ride height.

Good point to consider. Thanks. Makes me feel better about doing it in the future.

After taking one round out of the front and 1.5 rounds out of the rear stock springs.

Your car sits or sat like my 81 sits currently John. I like how it turned out. The stock rear sits way too high IMO. How is the ride with cut springs? What shocks are you using?

Thanks!
You're going to love this.
l found a Spider at the local Pick n Pull that had red springs @ all four corners, and had kybs' on the front and bilsteins on the back!
Comparing the red springs to my stock set showed that they were the same wire diameter as the stock springs but were cut down by one and one half coils on all four. As you car see l opted to remove the bumpers which when combined with full length springs made it stand even taller.
The lowered stance coupled with an Addco rear anti sway bar have only made it even more fun to toss into turns. And it rides smoother than my Scion xB.

I've taken 2 coils off the back and 1 1/2 off the front to get the ride height I was seeking. I still have the 13" rims with 185/60-13 tires, so these are shorter than stock. I had to remove the bump stops. Seems to handle OK, though steering is lighter than I remembered.

Pottsthomas,
If you noticed a big drop in steering effort, you may have removed some of the front end caster.
Now this may be a better feel, but if your wheel no longer seems to center on its own when you wiggle it side to side its possible you need to have the alignment checked.
