Feb 17/08 SoCal Run
Hi Everyone! I wanted to let all of you know that there will be a BBQ/RUN/Detail Day on the 17 of Feb, 08. It starts at 10 AM sharp. RAIN OR SHINE. I will be hosting a detail info tutorial that day as well. I used to work for Adams Polishes (No, I do not sell their product any more, I have a real job now) so I have probably detailed 500 cars in the past few years (no I dont detail any more, just my fleet). I know a thing or two about how to make you cars really sparkle. Merkel Weiss is the host of this run. He puts on 3-4 runs a year sn the Best of France and Italy. I you have never been to his home, he has a very impressive collection of Fiats and Abarths. Any one with an 850 or wanting and 850 should come by as well. I hope the weather will be nice enough to run through the Sun Valley Canyon, its the nicest run that I have been on, either for a speedy drive or a sunday cruise! His contact info is:

PLEASE GAS UP YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU GET THERE, it is a pain to get 30 cars gassed up before the run.
Hope to see you all at 10! It will be a blast!

Mark,
Merkel has never done a run/meet like this before. In the past, we met at about 10AM, talked for a bit and then we were on the road by 11AM. I would imagine it would be the same, but after we get back we will eat and detail. However, things might be mixed around a bit. It depends on how many people show and what everyone wants to do.

Got my work schedule straightened out so I'll be there too. I hope Hal brings his silver screamer, I'm bringing 2 extra memory cards for the camera just in case. I promise to get interior shots!
Alberto, I forgot to ask, should we bring something(s) for the BBQ?

rlux4, GOOD QUESTION! It depends on the turn out as to weather we bbq or eat at a diner. I think we will probably BBQ as there will hopefully be a lot of people here. Feel free to bring beverages (cans or individual bottles), something to bbq or dessert! What ever you like is good!

I'm planning on being there as well with the OSCA. One day soon I hope to have my own 850!
What should I bring?

Well... the X and I will be there. And I don't mean the X wife... Although Mark may not recognise it again, it is even a bit more sporty than last time.
Cheers,

I'll be there. Will be driving down from Ventura to pick up our daughter at UCLA at 9:30, then head on up to Merkel's. Looking forward to seeing everybody. Ash and I plan to go for a little hike for an hour or so in Placerita Canyon after the drive up twisties along Sand Canyon. It's at the turnaround point of the drive. Anybody else that wants to join us for a hike is more than welcome.

Re: Feb 17/08 SoCal Run
Hey Alvon, isn't "hike" a euphemism for WALKING! I think I'll pass, I put enough miles foot-wise during the work week. The miles I put on during the week-end I prefer doing butt-wise. Maybe if I had a desk job I'd join you. You're lucky though, getting to spend time with your daughter. See you tomorrow. Ron
Re: Feb 17/08 SoCal Run
As I just took a deposit on the OSCA, I don't think I'll be joining you guys. I hope to make the next event, though, in a rear-engined Fiat!
Re: Feb 17/08 SoCal Run
Hope to see everybody tomorrow, bringing the whole family. See you there Ace.

George
