just got done changing the coolant on my Fiats

Post by AndyS »

been using the Pentosin blue longtime coolant in my cars for years, and even after 4 years, it looked almost as good as when i put it in. It is specifically designed for alloy heads, and I am having way less issues with alloy corrosion since i changed over to this type of antifreeze many years ago. unlike the new "red" coolants, this seems to be OK in older cars. (the red stuff tends to leak out of every seal and gasket on older cars)

just thought i'd pass this info along

Thats good coolant but i run the Honda Blue coolant in all my cars . The coolant has a sealant so if there is minor leaks it dries up and seals .

Is it safe to use with the copper/brass rads? I was wondering about what other brands of coolant would be good.

I run in in my old 1960 Alfa Spider that has a brass radiator,(and a full aluminum engine) and have had good luck with that car as well. before when I used regular "green" typical auto parts anti freeze, had lots of corrosive activity happening within a short period of time. could even see it on the inside of the cap.
