radiator and fuel tank rebuild quote

Post by Gopher »

Wow, just visited a place to get a quote on what it would take to redo the fuel tank and radiator. He quoted $300 for tank and wouldn't give me an estimate on radiator, but estimated another $200-$300 for that. Tank can be purchased already done for that price new or remanufactured for $170. Radiator is not all that expensive...I may just go that route.

You can buy a new tank for $300. I paid $60 to have my tank cleaned and sealed and $45 to have my radiator cleaned and have the leaks fixed both now work like new.

I think I will opt for a new tank. As far as the radiator goes, I will definitely be shopping around. It isn't leaking that I can see, but it is a bit rusty and could use a coat of paint. That will have to be next weeks projects.

How are the aluminum radiators? I know Allison's sells one and so does Vicks I think. Do they require a lot of modification to install?

I used to live in Belleville for many years. Miss the area around there.

THanks all
