The donut was the very first thing I replaced on The Mistress when I bought her. It had a chunk out and the mechanic said it came out in 3 pieces so it was past time to replace. I bought the car September 1, 2011 and as of today I have put almost 4,000 miles on it. I just love driving it. I drive it to work on nice days, like today is going to be. Forecast is for sunny and 65!

If/when you replace the donut remember that the metal surround it supposed to remain on until installation is complete, but removed before the car is driven. If you fail to remove it it will likely remind you with a loud series of metallic bangs as it first breaks free then bounces off various parts of the undercarriage seeking to escape from you and the car.

No, don't ask me how I know.

Yours broke mine remained intact swirling around.... As I was checking the last bolts I thought to myself, "pull it off as you slide out from under the car" (yeah right you think I will remember something two minutes later?). Driving along, heard the most unusual noise, couldn't locate it, didn't make sense. Crawled under the car and ...... well, no harm no foul. psg
