Hi
Can anyone tell me, how to remove the internal rear vision mirror ?
Is it stuck on ?, uses clips ? or screws ?
The service manual don't explain how to safely remove it without damage !
I need to replace the mirror glass
Regards

Re: How to remove of Rear Vision Mirror (internal)
Hi Adrian, I had the same issue a couple months back. I didn't find out how it came off till I got an after market windshield mounted unit, which I didn't like but my old one was cloudy. There is a discussion about this around the end of Nov. 07. Your mirror has a ball and socket type mount. The base (with a socket) is screwed into the windshield frome. The base of your mirror (with the ball) snaps onto it. It "just" snaps out. By now they are pretty rusted together, so it takes some force to get them apart. Mike Bouse uses a thin blade screw driver. Push toward the windshield against the bar going from the base up to the mirror head. If you push on the mirror you may damage the day/night internal mechanism. Once you have a little separation between the base and the base cover put a screw driver in there and some twisting should pop them apart. In my case, once I pushed in (using the mirror head: see above) it came apart, no damage. If your issue is a dirty mirror, it doesn't need to come off to clean it. The mirror is covered by a clear piece of glass and gunk is under it. A plastic trim ring is holding the glass and mirror. It snaps off, the glass and mirror fall out, can be cleaned and put back on.

Adrian, the thread on taking apart thre mirror is under "Cosmetics" By me, dated Dec. 8th. If you're having trouble getting the mirror head separated, how to do it is there. Good luck, Ron
