Re: what carb is this
Jim,
If you put a 1800 manifold on your 79 you will need to make a bracket for the oil dipstick since the 1800 manifold is smaller externally and the dip stick will have no place to bolt to.
You can always get a FI dipstick and fi dipstick cambox bracket.

Send me the extra $70, I'll give you a linkage lever and tell you how to hook it up.

Re: what carb is this
I have a 79 and did this conversion. I removed all the pollution parts. I run a 1600 plaine manifold. I plugged all the holes on the manifolds leaving open only the vacuum for the breakbuster and distributor. It starts at the first kick after the installation. You will need some small modification on the original carb link. I did not have a chance to drive the car because of drive shaft/rust issue so I do not know how the performance will be.

Re: what carb is this
I purchased my EMPI 32/36 at http://www.appletreeauto.com. At the time it was $215.29 with another 10% off and free shipping. I ended up buying a new spacer and some extra gaskets and had it shipped to my door for right at $203.00 and some change. I don't believe the 10% off deal is still going, but you can still get the carb for $215.29 with free shipping plus whatever gasket(s) you need. I bolted mine on to my '73 with a 1600 and it works like a charm. I fought a 34/34 Weber Interco for several weeks, and can't believe how much nicer the EMPI works.
