Radiator cap

Post by mik »

Car is a '69 124 spider, 1438cc. Can I buy a rad cap locally as long as it is 1 1/4", and 13lb or would you recommend going through the vendors? Anything special about the ones the vendors have? Thanks, Mik

On my 72 I tried a couple diff caps and they didn't fit right, till I got one off another Fiat. Get one made for the Fiat.

Around 1970 Fiat changed the cap. The later cap is easy to find at any auto part stores, the early ones not always so.
The early cap is ~1.25" overall height, the later is about 1" tall.

Maybe I've got an early radiator, cause I had a heck of a time finding a cap!
