Silly question since I'm not much of a mechanic. I have a manual transmission spider. It is on jack stands with the wheels off. If I start the car in neutral then look under the car the drive shaft to the rear differential is rotating. The wheel rotors aren't but the drive shaft is.
Is it normal for the drive shaft to rotate on the spider even when in neutral?
Just wondering...

Re: Drive Shaft
Just the gears moving the oil in the trans is enough to make the driveshaft move when there's no load, but if the driveshaft is turning at least one wheel should be.
