Stainless interior mirror option?

OK, my mirror is crap. Fixed it 3 times and it's on it's last leg! Is there a chrome or stainless mirror that will work? The wife likes shinny stuff.
VW bug mirror? Custom hotrod mirror with day/night lever?

Some folks have repaired their mirrors with different springs, etc., but the plastic pivots eventually wear. I think the snap-off feature of our mirror base is unique. I wonder if any of you have successfully disassembled the ball/socket of the OE mirror face, and replaced it with something more substantial?

yes i even wrote a piece on on here. On how to fix a sloppy mirror using a $5.00 trailer tail light. But i thought he was wanting to go custom

LOL! Thanks Gritt. I have speedway's catalog (car nut too). The d&%& thing is just worn out. Lever is half broken off,wont hold adjustment,glass still rattles, etc. etc.
I figure with all the stainless trim on the car a little bling inside would look cool. VW bug maybe will fit. Wonder if the heads will swap at the piviot ball? Can swap the whole assm. Drill new mount holes in the ws frame. Hmmmm.

go to the local auto supply buy a cheep-o trailer tail light take it apart there is a spring inside that you can use to replace your spring in your mirror to fix the adjustment issue.than use a piece of one sided sticky foam to tighten the glass raddle up.

I don't think the Bug mirror would be easily adaptable; they attach to their mount with a cam action rotating 90 degrees.

What about a more modern mirror that glues to the windshield? I bet they come in a variety of styles.

they made these mirrors black for a reason

the sun will glaire off crome and blind you as you drive
so i think black is better.joe
