Speedometer Cable Replacement Help

Post by donerehart »

What is the trick to getting the Speedometer Cable out of the Firewall? How do you reseal it on the Firewall? This should be so simple, but never seems to be!

once you release the cable from the speedo, you should be able to push it into the engine compartment. there is a grommet that fits the firewall. went thru my pix and this is all i came up with. hope it helps.

Very Helpful...does it just pull through there? It seems like a very tight fit...

the speedo cable is shown in pictures 4 and 5. It is the one with the accordian style grommet. In one of the pix you can see it has been pulled from the firewall. If your sheath is ok, you may want to just replace the drive cable.
