door lock information please

I can turn the outside door locks 1/4 turn to unlock position but they will only turn maybe 1/8 turn to the lock position. And they won't lock. I am about ready to give up although I am a little stubborn regarding fixing anything that doesn't work. I do remember I got them to work at the end of last summer when I purchased the car but they were difficult and hard to turn. Now, they seem to be sticking too much to get them to lock. I know they say don't spray them with WD40 or PB Blaster but I was thinking maybe if there is something like corrosion inside the locks that maybe the spray would help dissolve any crud?

Does the door lock properly by using the lever? The problem may not be inside the lock. Assuming it is, I've never had a problem after spraying a small bit of WD-40 directly into a lock (other cars) using the fine tube that comes with the can.

Yes, lever works, it's the outer handle push button that will not turn 1/4 to lock position, it will turn 1/4 to unlock position.

had a problem like this a few months back-- i tightened all the screws on the door to get rid of some rattles and the key wouldn't lock the door. so i loosened the 3 screws aroung the plastic lock thingy and the key worked fine..
