BC Meet up

Post by 124ADDHE »

I was curious if anyone gets together in the BC area? If not, maybe something should be done about that this spring...What do you think?

I was thinking of the May long weekend this year but most had other commitments. There is a fathers day Italian show in North van that I'd like to goto. Peachland has a decent show and shine on the May long weekend as well. Earlier in the year there is a "snowball run" or something like that from Vancouver up and through this way.
Perhaps I could get hold of Father G and see what is happening in the Italian community in Van. There are several fiat owners on Van. Island as well that might be interested as well. Might be kinda like herding cats to get a bunch from around here together at the same time. (Guiness might help for after)

I'd be interested in going over for the Italian meet. Can you let us know when and where?

I'd be up for the Italian car meet. I'd also be up for a run through the Okanagan as well. And we'd be happy to host a BBQ (complete with Guiness) in Courtenay if anyone were interested in doing a Vancouver Island run.

There is a group that meets on the 1st Tuesday of the Month at the Italian Centre. They regularly sponsor drives and "get togethers" etc. It's a real nice group of guys and gals with some beautiful cars. I was surprised to see so many spiders and in such great condition. On a sad note today I was informed of the death of probably the best italian car mechanic in the Vancouver area....Mr Vincenzo DeMarinis. May he Rest in Peace.

Sorry to hear of Mr DeMarinis passing.
Can you tell us when the Italian day usually is?

Ok, BC'ers - and even you folks from Washington and Oregon...while it would be great to plan a drive, if we do nothing else in 2011, let's try to get as many Fiats as we can to either or both of the Italian Car days in June and July. Eugenio, once you know the dates, could you let us all know?
I know there are some great Italian restaurants - including Dario's (where I've had many, many fine lunches and dinners - near the Italian Cultural Centre. It would be great to meet up with a whole bunch of other Fiat folks!

Ok Courtenay....

I'll keep you posted. There are a number of fiat owners here in the metro Vancouver area. There is also a good showing of Spiders at both Italian Car Shows. Some of the Spider look like they've just rolled off the Showroom Floor.

You are welcome to cross the Rockies any old time you want - just make sure your travel documents are in order. The first event that I'm aware of is on Fathers' Day in North Vancouver. It's a French/Italian car meet. I'm not sure of the exact location and time, but I'm sure someone else will. We'll make sure it's posted as we get closer to the date.

I believe it is on fathers day...Sunday June 19th this year. Location has been at a park in North Van down on the waterfront west of Londsdale. Not too far from the marine training center I believe. Sat would be a good day for a meet and perhaps a cruise to Whistler or something like that?
http://www.autoeventlist.com/ there is a phone number next to the NV event on June 19th

I and my son are planning on attending (June 19). It will be an easy trip over from Nanaimo to N. Vancouver and back for the day. My spider won't look great but we will be attending for the fun and to see the other cars. A drive with fellow Spiders would be a great idea! Count on us, unless something unexpected comes up!
