No Spark problem driving me to Insanity

If a fiat is exotic then by that logic a bmw or a toyota should also be exotic.

Tow truck guy decided to tow it by the anti sway bar, not a good idea. On the other hand, there realy is no good place to hook up to tow the car, unless they use the kind where it picks up the front wheels.

Another possible project: weld on some tow hooks

i don't agree with that logic, but that is neither here nor there.

I am not a tow vehicle expert. I shouldn't need to be when i make a phone call.

if you (the tow vehicle operator) have reservations about handling my vehicle, you should say so BEFORE you damage it further....not later when you screw up my "exotic" vehicle and realize that it could cost you money to make me whole.

the problem isn't that people don't want to be accountable, the problem is that we don't force them to be accountable for their actions.

so, let's see....i should pay you to further destroy my car? RIGHT...

I own and drive a tow truck for myself - NOT for hire or commercial. I just tow my own vehicles and scrap vehicles to the scrap yard, etc. I've been towing for years. If a tow truck driver tows your vehicle with a sling, then he's being stupid. There's no reason for this, and a wheel lift is what should be used. However, with that said ... I've towed my own spider many times. I have found that you should NEVER have your spider towed from the front. The bar can hit the oil pan. If not right away, on bumps it definitely will. You can have it towed from behind with a wheel lift and it works great.

Just my experience.

BTW, even if a sling is used, there's no reason to hook up by the sway bar. It should be done on the control arms.

so the old adage that if you own one Fiat, you should get another has been expanded to owning a tow truck too? Where does it end?

Oh no! Where am I going to park a tow truck? I think good insurance and requesting a rollback will suffice.

Yes, they told me of the damage waiver when I requested a flatbed truck. I thought nothing of it because, as an owner of Fiats, I've had my cars loaded and unloaded from flatbeds numerous times and never had a problem. Next time I will pay much more attention to the winching points.

Also, we had been waiting for the truck over 2 hours, and when he arrived it was 1:45 am. I didn't have much fight left in me by that time. It pissed me off, but in reality just goaded me into finally having the radiator overhauled. It's the original and had never had any work done. The core is in great shape, just needed tank work on both tanks.

in my opinion there should not have been a waiver. people need to be more accountable, not less, for their actions.

if he can't figure out how to get a car onto a flat bed without damage....maybe he should find another line of work.

but, you agreed to a waiver. sucks, 'eh?
