Hello from deepest Arkansas

Post by FatherFiat »

I am new to this forum as a member, but am in the final stages of restoration on my 1978 124 Spider.
I may be able to answer a few simple question on 124's.

Hey Pops, answer this:
Where are your photos?!

Just kidding. Welcome and hello. I visited a customer in Rogers a few times, long before Wal-Mart existed. Very rural. I think I still have a Hog Hat somewhere in the attic.

How did a Spider make its way into your part of the world?

Bernie... what? gibberish, or is that hat stuff meaningful? us died in the wool NAUTHERNers don't understand.

Father, welcome. pleased don't be influenced by those that would have you think we like short sentances. we prefer reading a lot about you and your car...especially the car. pictures for guys like me are also nice, cuz i read slowly and understand best when the pictures are attached.

my wife loves her '78 spider. i am confident that when yours is back on the road, you will be saying the same.

University of Arkansas in nearby Fayetteville. I think they subsequently removed the curly-Q tail on the damn thing, as it was spearing spectators seated behind you. The official version has a big "A" on the side. They do take their college football very seriously down there.

Back when the Washington Redskins had a football team with the "hogs", I thought of doing some dental work on my Arkansas hat, repainting it burgundy, and adorning it with the Redskins emblem, but thought the better of it, lest I incur the wrath of Razorback fans.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. As you can tell, every once in a while we like to give each other grief. Some of us more so than others. But there's a valid point in there somewhere, we like to see pics of everyone's cars.

The score so far: Fiat 1, Razorback hats 5!
I guess that menas the Hogs are winning. Thanks for the warm welcome, but just to enlighten the Nautherners, not everyone here even OWNS a hog hat, much less WEARS one! Photos of my car will be forthcoming, although thinks are a little busy right now. For those who must know, it is almost totally a stock restoration of a car which has only 10 thousand actual miles, although it had received a fairly lengthy stint in the pasture. To you Yankees, that's a lot like the back yard, or maybe the alley.
More to come in the future, as time and circumstance permit.
