Hey all.
I am new here, but we have a new project. A '77 Spider.
The P.O. had pulled the head off for some reason and when we picked it up the car is pretty much scattered in boxes.
Now we have the whole block out and it is hanging out. So that has me wondering, even if things are up to spec, it is already apart so it may be worth considering doing a full rebuild. Depending on the price tag.
About what is the damage to do an 1800 if the final assembly is done by us, and we are only looking at parts and machine work.
I already realise that there are a lot of unknown here. But if all the parts can be machined instead of needing to be replaced, what are we looking at?
Average price tag for machine work on engine?

expect to spend upwards of $700 to have the block, crank, rods and head rebuilt. Any parts will be on top of that

Thanks mark. It helps give me an idea on what our baseline pricetag will be for motor work. It is certainly more reasonable than what my truck motor starts at...
