Oil gauge instead of clock

Post by eddy314 »

I want to replace my clock with an oil pressure gauge. Does anyone know how and where to install an oil pressure sensor on my 79 2000? Thx

And if you need a sending unit, and don't want to pay $45 for new - I have an excellent one out of my '76 that just happens to be for sale. $25

I have a gauge too - just didn't have a handy picture of it - but I can send you one this evening if you want to see it. Also $25.

Buy them both for $45.

Shipping included.

Steve,If eddy314 doesn't want the oil pressure gauge and sending unit I'm interested. I didn't think about that when I got the other parts.
By the way I got them in good shape thanks!

Hi,

My veglia gauge didn't come with the harness. I have enough spare parts to build one I was wondering if someone could translate the wire colors listed in Mr. Bouse's install guide over to the gauge terminals.

Some are easy -
White wire from speedo to the back light bulb on new gauge
Gray/Yellow from tach to oil light bulb

after that I am just guessing.

I have the following remaining connectors on the gauge:
"+"
"COM"
"31" (probably a ground for the backlight bulb)
then a spade that appears to have continuity with the oil light socket (bulb ground perhaps)

Also does anyone have a presure sender gauge? My 80 2000 only has the oil light sender.

Thanks,
Brandon

My clock is dead and foggy. the CD player has a digital clock.

After looking at the schematic i am pretty sure i figured out how to build a harness and what to connect to. COM gets the input from the sender. + gets 12V ignition. everything else is light bulbs that are easy to figure out

now all i need is the sender.

90 degrees in Northern VA today. put over 120 miles on her this week commuting to work 8)
