Who wants to visit my new garage?

Post by 4babycar »

I just started renting a new garage space with a few other classic car nuts. Check out the cars already there......
I am bit concerned that some of the other cars already there will start referring to our Betty as Ugly Betty but I am trying to reassure her as best I can by telling her she actually gets out to see the light of day and play in the curves of the Blue Ridge Parkway! What is wrong with these people having these cars and NOT DRIVING THEM!?!

If anyone is interested in a tour....... see my previous post: http://www.fiatspider.com/f08/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7666 I am going to need the help if I actually take on this project!

Beautiful hardwood floors in your garage, Michael! Is this where your new donor car is?

I agree, these cars need to be taken out and driven rather than becoming buried in dust! If I only had the money! The Triumph actually gets around quite a bit. It belongs to my new landlord (for the garage), it is his father's rally car that he imported from across the pond.

Denise- no I found my potential new donor car in a barn about 30 minutes away. The floors are beautiful, the building was an old factory they are the original wood floors. It works out great for us because there is very little moisture and you don't have the acid leakage from the concrete affecting the tires.

Dave- I wish you could help too! Are you sure you can't? You and wife are certainly welcome and we are a few hours closer than NC! The Blue Ridge Parkway is a great place to take you spider, the leaves are beautiful and it is only 15 minutes from my house and the road to get there may even be more fun than the parkway (LOTS of curves)!

I don't think you'll have to worry about your car being called ugly Betty. It looks as if the owners never attend their cars. If they do, how could they let them get to that point. Where are you located 4babycar?

Good find,Michael! Those other cars are begging for a little action.Any idea what class that Alfa is running in SCCA? With those aux lights,it almost looks to be a rally car of some sort.

Brady - Thanks, I am not worried about the owner's opinions. I will be more than happy to remind them they are twice my age, have twice as much money and don't even know how to enjoy/drive the great cars they have. I am simply worried about my temperamental Fiat getting her own self confidence issues. The cars are all in very good shape under the dust, just lonely.

I live in Lynchburg, Virginia ( pretty much right in the middle of the state).

Graig- Thanks to you as well. I don't know which class he was racing. He occasionally rallys that car too but it has a clutch problem right now. That car is also owned by my new landlord too.
