Headlight and side marker bulb

Hello,

I have a 1978 124 with some bulb replacement questions.

- Headlight bulb. Which one do I buy and where?
- Front and rear side marker bulbs. Which one and where do I buy them?

You can remove the bulbs and take them to any local auto parts store and they will have what you need.

I got my headlamp relaced, but couldn't take the plastic cover off of the side markers.
Any instructions apprecaited.

If side marker are the rectangular ones like the spider at the top of the page then the plastic lens is a solid piece. The light receptacle twists counter-clockwise and pulls out the back. Easy to try on the rears.

sO does the plastic cover and the chrome piece come off together? Or does the plastic housing detach from the chrome square piece?

On the front side of the light, The lens sits inside the chrome surround and has two studs that go thought the assembly. On the backside, there is a metal bracket that is clamped down by two wingnuts attached to the lens studs to hold the light in place. You do not have to remove the light assembly to replace the bulbs. Just twist the bulb holder and pull it out.

The chrome piece is kind of like a bucket or a pan. The studs are embedded in the plastic and go thru the metal.
