New TV Car Program

Post by sptcoupe »

Just happened to catch an ad for a new car program called "Chasing Classic Cars" while surfing the channels a few minutes ago. From what I gathered, it is about finding good classic cars for sale. In the ad, there was a very brief glimpse of a 124 spider "being found". Looks pretty interesting. It is on the "HD Theatre" channel offered by ATT U-Verse, and will begin next Tuesday night.

Sounds interesting. Wonder if they'll show people what to look for when buying an old car.

I've been watching "Chasing Classic Cars" for a while now. It's very interesting, but deals mostly with very high end cars. The show I've really begun to like is also on HD Theatre Tuesday nights at 8pm. It's "Wheeler Dealers". They take older cars, buy them, fix them up, and sell them. It's produced in England, but is more atuned to what we do with our cars every day. Check it out.

Sounds like Tuesday nights are shaping up to be pretty interesting! Thanks for the heads up on Wheeler Dealers. Have you ever seen a FIAT on Chasing Classics? I just happened to looking at the right time to see one for one second on the ad. May be the only time we see one!

I think there are maybe only 10 or 12 Chasing Classic Cars episodes, and I've seen them all, it's been running on my cable for some months now. I don't think he's done a spider, he did a Fiat Jolly and also a Lancia (I don't recall the model).

I also like Wheeler Dealers. Just watched one last week where they cleaned up a Lancia Integrale.

There was one Fiat on the show, but it was an earlier model, not a Spider. I have seen that shot of Wayne driving a Spider, but nothing on the show itself. Wheeler Dealers re-did a Porche 911 last night.

I'm also a big fan of Wheeler Dealer, there's anothter new show on that same channel called "Wreck Rescue" which aired last week for the 1st time. The 1st 2 episodes showed a young lady, age 20, restoring an Austin Healy Bugeye Sprite from the ground up and she completed it in 10 months. Episodes 3 and 4 will air tomorrow night, check it out!
