Fiats unite!
Fiats unite!
There is plenty of time for this, but I thought it would be a good idea to start thinking about it. What if plans were started about having Fiat back in America. I not positive, but assume that they will put down roots in Auburn Hill, Michigan with Chrysler. It would be kinda cool to have a mass assembly of Fiats in front of their office building around the time that they plan to introduce their new cars. Kinda of a welcome back home. I will have to get a closer date, but I am thinking that it wont happen for a year and a half. I think 2011 is the first model year for the 500.

I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the FLU group in your area. They are a great group. Have you met any of them yet? http://home.comcast.net/~thepierz/wsb/h ... html-.html
Re: Fiats unite!
Latest Reports indicate Chrysler would rather have a bailout then actually fix their problems with Fiat. I hope the press is wrong. But it does fit the mentality of "I need a Bail Out/Welfare America.
Re: Fiats unite!
Well, Fiat said it will only get in if Chrysler does get the loans. Chrysler said their best chance for survival is with Fiat. The Fiat 500 will be built in the Mexican plant that now produces the PT Cruiser which will be eliminated this summer.
Dave, they havent updated that website in 4 years. I think my subdivision could start its own chapter, there are a lot of spiders here.

Re: Fiats unite!
that pic has to be a fake, right? We all know Motown resembles some dank soot-covered city in Eastern Europe with unemployed Big 3 execs on every corner looking for hand outs

Re: Fiats unite!
From what I've read in the mainstream press, Chrysler's "restructuring" seems to consist of dropping the PT Cruiser and not reintroducing the Aspen. It's this kind of comprehensive and visionary thinking that got them where they are today. If this is the best they can come up with, good riddance.
Re: Fiats unite!
What really hurt the company was being bought by Daimler AG. They had no idea how to do regular autos for the masses in America. Bernie, they are going to sell 7 fiat and alfa romeo cars, to shore up their entry level and mid level.
Mark, the only problem with Detroit is that you drive 15 mile or more to go home (suburbs). Until that changes, the city will not grow.
