Hi ! I'm a new member. My 124 spider has been in storage for 12 years. Due to career and family obligations, I had to stop working on it. I have owned the car for over 21 years. Now that my life is slowing down, I want to get it back on the road.

Hi Mark:

I remember your shop from the old days. I did some time turning wrenches for Harry Hill's in Covina and Dick Miller's in San Bernardino before I left the trade, but my main line was Volkswagen.

Hey, I didn't notice your location on the first post. You're not too far away! Boy, Harry Hills' is going back a couple of years

Yup ! I go back a few years. I left the trade in 1984. Found it to be a better hobby than a way to make a living, at least for me. Been playing with cars since the late 50's.

Jim:

Welcome. I crawled around under every rusty VW that came in the door until 1973. Got tired of them raining on me. I got into business machines because they weren't rusty. Been messing with British cars but this is my first Italian.

Hi Jack:

Good to meet you. When the hot rods were killed off in the early 60's by muscle cars that I could not afford, I went to VW's. That turned into a business. I guess this car thing is a sickness that lasts a lifetime. Between the cars and motorcycles, my home workshop is always full. ...Jim
