Greetings from the Heartland, Iowa that is...

Post by sonosml »

Hi, Been a spider owner since 1986, I have a '74 that I have loved and has become part of "person". Basically I'm a Fiat NUT! I'm also the event coordinator (newly nominated) to the Chicagoland FLU group. I have recently been told not to drive my car as the cancer has progressed into its "bones" (uni-body). Not worth fixing, So, In an week I will be purchasing its replacment.

I just joined this site to see what you guys are all about!

welcome to the site! What we're about is mutual admiration for the Spider, helping each other source parts and providing repair advice. Good luck with the new replacement, have you picked one out?

Welcome Mike. How did you avoid us for so long? And what did you do for laughs without us?
There's a FLU chapter in Chicago?!

Well, for starters... Mike ... we are about the real Jonny Cash, and not the imitation variety like that guy with the impossible to spell or pronounce name. Jock-strap FA-hone-ix ??

We are about fixing our Spiders, sharing that information, and having a good time while we do it. We love to kid each other, but ONLY when everyone knows it is just for fun.

When you finally replace that long-held retiring special friend, you will have to share pictures of you and your new phat ride. that is the generally accepted entry fee ... pictures ... we love lots of pictures.

when you have questions, do not hesitate to ask them. we'll steer you in the right direction, at least most of the time.

Welcome to the site from a fellow FLU member! Have you found a replacement yet, or are you still looking? That '82 in Chicago looks pretty nice for the money (at least in the one photo I have seen). And, of course, everyone knows 1982 is the best model year

Welcome to the site from another FLU member.I hope someone here gets that 82 soon!I showed my wife the pic,and she said''GO AHEAD,BUY IT!" The words we love to hear from the better half.Alas, with business so slow I dont think I will pursue it but it is very tempting.

I move we adapt a rule that no forum member be allowed to own two 82's. Mike I hope you find a sweet ride! You ought to fit in here good, and I promise I will not pick on you  for awhile anyway... We had great times at the FUN event, and probably will sometime this summer too! Hey everyone,

Sorry its taken so long for me to get back. I've just had a busy time this Spring??? At least they say its spring.

I have replaced the Punken with another spider AKA Cherry Bomb. I purchased a 75 that came from Chicago, via Michigan. I have some pictures of the car, but not on this computer. I'll try to get back here more often and get those promised pictures.

Here, I've used my nickname, Sonosml and on the chicago flu website, I'm known as IA-Mike

Thanks for all the great welcome messages, and I promise, I'll check back here more often.

Thanks,

Mike
