Hi All,
So my Spider finally arrived. She runs great, albeit a bit rough, but i think that's solved with some general maintenance. However the electrics are all over the place and the interior is so bad i spent 2 days pulling it all apart and nothing has survived. carpets , cards, seats all need replacing. Ive had a new timing belt put it and new fuel pump replaced at the shop. The rest ill do myself.
Wipers , lights, hazards are all non functional ( horn and front lights work ok but very dim) and the windows electric motors wind down beautifully but winding up is another story....sounds like the front door of the Adams family house !
That's the bad news. The good news is the floors are solid, the gears work fine, suspension feels good and the rubbers are ok and there's barely any rust to be found anywhere.
I reckon ill clean the earths, put new fuses and relays in and it should be better. Ill start from there.
I will POR15 the interior floors black , hushmat and place a new interior in her. For now cabrio is open and windows open. Its funky in there right now and I've cleaned the floors twice with degreaser. The garage is airy so that should help.
Question : does anyone know of a shop with new old stock ? especially for the interior ? ( i placed the old interior carpets in the wash and it still looks awful. )
How do I add images here ? Im not the Forum Guru !
Thanks
Shaun

I don't know of anyone who sells NOS for things like carpet, and so everything that I have seen is aftermarket reproductions. I've heard that some carpet sets can be quite good while others are just OK. I don't have any recommendations, but my sense is that more money gets you better quality. A custom job would probably be the best, but it would be pricey.
