Greetings from Westminster, Maryland.
My name is Dean Wolf and I live in a rural area outside of Baltimore, Maryland. I am new to the forum and hope to learn more about fiat, especially how I might purchase one of these precious vehicles. I recently became interested in fiat after having recurrent memories of tooling around with my old college buddy in his 1969 fiat spider. He was foolish enough to let me drive it a few times where I enjoyed winding up the vehicle close to 100 mph. I would be grateful for any leads about what to look for in buying a fiat and am particularly interested in a fuel injected later model fiat or Pinninfarina hopefully lovingly restored and reasonably priced. Best area to buy in would be the Baltimore/Washington or southern Pennsylvania area promixmal to Gettysburg, Pa. I am particularly grateful to Mark Allison for his gracious help and support in answering my inquiries. Many thanks. I look forward to interacting with forum members and learning more about the wonderful world of fiat.

Welcome to the forum and hopefully you'll become another Maryland Fiat owner. I'm right down the road from you in Frederick. You might log into the group I belong to...DCFiats.org. Nice group of folks. Someone in that bunch might know of one for sale in the region. Good luck.

Uh oh, another case of bitten by a Spider. Oh well, the situation is hopeless, and the only cure is to have one and join others who are afflicted with the same malady.
Welcome to the forum, you'll find a lot of help and comraderie.
Good luck finding the right one.

Re: New member Westminster, Maryland
The later model Fiats, particularly 79 and up, are generally easier to find. Fuel injection was available on California models in 1980 and standard on all models from 1981. Be advised that the Pinninfarina models (83-85) have many different parts (interior, electrical, switch gear, etc.) that can cost significantly more than the other models due to their low production. But basically, condition -- particularly rust, or lack thereof -- trumps year, model, color, etc.
Good luck and don't be a stranger!
