Hi,
I'm excited to join this forum. Very impressed with the quality. Got some questions that I haven't seen answered yet too.
My story is:
I'd been looking for a beater to use instead of my '99 V10 Ford F250 4X4 for driving around town for awhile. Looked at a lot of economical cars (read boring), and then I found this little red spider for sale in San Jose. Been sitting in the couples garage since the baby was born he's 4 now. As soon as I saw it, just knew it was supposed to be taken under wing. Didn't really care about the mileage, as long as it was better than my current 10 mpg.
I was amazed at how much care had already been give the little beast, like new tie rod ends, new short block, new top, muffler and no rust. Like I said; love at first sight. Since my hobby is woodworking, the first thing I did was replace the wooden slats on the trunk with some nice white oak. Then cleaned the engine and got out the buffer and worked on the "Miracle" paint. At least it's thick enough to take some rubbing and come out with a shine.
So I'm a spider newbie, and been doing a lot of reading and driving, and loving it.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. Lots of '79s showing up lately. It is easy to understand how it was love at first sight. That's why we all have at least one. We'd like to see your new car, so post some pics please.

welcome to the site! After the influx of east coasters, it's nice to get some more left coasters. Make plans to come south for the Best of France and Italy on Nov 2nd. You'll find several cars from N Cal and Oregon make the trip each year

We all needed a primer on posting pictures at first. You need to upload pics to a photosharing site such as Photobucket. You have options there on copying the image. Once it's copied you insert it/them in the message box here at FS.com with a command found in the rectangular grey boxes above the message composition area. I use thumbnails because I can simply copy them without a command promt and they size automatically to the screen when clicked on.

In Photobucket, it's not necessary to use the "Img" button shown on the preceeding slide; simply click on your uploaded image within your album at the "IMG Code" line (bottom of choices), and you will see a yellow dialog box that says "Copied". Right-click and Paste into your message at the intended location.
The syntax looks like this:
Now, let's see 'em!

Nice tutorial! Mark, how do we make this a sticky message that all new members can view?

My little 79 beastie
So are those the stock wheels? I've got some cracks around the hub on one.

Very pretty. You have an unusual interior color, most red cars are either black or beige.
If it drives as nice as it looks, you done good.

Thanks...I thought it was a weird color. I'm not sure that she was born red. Some of the under carriage is a kind of gold color. Any body know what the actual colors were in 1979?
