Hi all, I bought this week a 1975 124 Spider project car. Running gear seems to be in pretty good shape, but it needs an interior, top and paint. My two seater is currently just a one seater! My daughter (16) and I wanted a project car to work on so she could learn some of the basics of cars and work on a project with me. The price was right, and we both fell in love with the potential this little red car has.
My last (and first) project car was a 68 VW bug, but I bought it to be a daily driver, and after two years of problem after problem, I finally gave up and sold her to someone who wanted her as a project. I have a car I can drive, so I don't need to rely on the spider, so it is safe in it's "project" status. Different attitude can create different results.
Looking forward to gleaming knowledge from all those with experience on the board.
Hello from a new to me spider owner
Well, she will learn to sand.....stitching is something we will both have to learn!
She helped me rebuild the carb on our former 75 Ford F250, and has helped some with our current 97 F150, so she is not affraid to do the work. Plus, this was originally her idea (not that it took much to get me to agree!!!).
