Thanks for admitting me. I have already gained lots of useful information from this Forum.
I am rehabilitating '81 Spider 2000 that was actually produced on 06/80 according to the manufacturer's VIN plate.
Curiously, it has a plaque on the dashboard that says, "Fiat Special Addition 1982". The probable explanation is that either the dashboard or the plaque, or both, are not original to the car. Nonetheless, I'm wondering if anybody has seen this type of plaque before and, if so, what is "special" about the edition of the cars that were badged this way? There is also a matching plate stuck to the combing above the radio that has a person's name (the original purchaser?) engraved on it in the same font as the Special Edition plaque.
I can post a picture once I figure out how to do that!?
Thx

Re: Hello from Vancouver!
HI Rohan and welcome. Due to the lack of responses and coming up dry on a Google search. I'm leaning towards this being something a previous owner did. Simple enough to go to a trophy shop and have just about anything engraved. Is there anything that sets it apart from a regular 81 that you can see?

Thx Dave. Much appreciated. Based on the input I received on the “other” forum, I have concluded that there is, in fact, nothing special about it other than the plaque which, as you say, was probably dealer or owner installed. Cheers.
