New Member, New to me 1975 124 1800

Hi folks,

I recently purchased a 1975 Fiat 124. The car runs and drives but has a bad 4th gear at the moment. I bought another transmission and will pick it up in the next few weeks as time allows. It does need some body work which isn't an issue for me and the interior needs work. I had a 1975 back when they were new and loved the car. I also back in 2002 bought a 1978. I had that one until hurricane Sandy killed it, 4' of salt water for 12 hours did it no good. I had plans to restore it but it was just too far gone.

Anyway I plan to clean this one up and drive it. I have patch panels from the 78 so I'll use those to repair the current rust around the wheel wells. I eventually want to add throttle body fuel injection and I also have a brand new old stock wiring harness that I may install as there seems to be a fair number of "loose" wires floating about in the car. I also have a set of NOS gauges that may find use in this car. The car also has a paint code sticker under the hood that appears to be the sticker from the trunk lid. I plan to have it reproduced and will put it back in the trunk after the body work is done and I repaint the car.

At any rate that's my introduction.
