New to HERE Oregon

Hi to all.

I just bought my first Fiat and it is being delivered Tuesday Aug 19.

It is a 1961 Fiat 1200 Spider. It is a complete car just in pieces it has a motor/trans but I don't think it is a Fiat motor the mounting brackets don't look right. I will get pictures of it ASAP. It is a restro project so anyone with info on parts, engines, transmissions and I would love to hear it.

Hello, and welcome. Sounds like you've got something to keep you busy for a while.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting your state in my Spider. Can't say it was all fun and games, I had to tow it home to southern California from Grants Pass. But the Oregon 08 campout was great.(http://www.mirafiori.com/oregon2008/)

Welcome aboard! It's good to see some folks with pre-124 Spiders. The knowledge base is probably a little thinner on the older models, but the diversity is good for the forum. Plus, I'm sure you will be our resident expert on Fiat 1200s by the time you are through with your project. Keep us posted with pix.

there is no such thing as too many pictures during a resto project. kick myself everytime for not taking many, many pictures.

I am very excited today. I will hopefully have it by 6:30 pm today. I feel like it is Christmas. I am a bit nervous at the same time. First restro project and all. I couldn’t have pick a more difficult model I guess. Parts are pretty slim from what I have seen on line, but I am finding some bits and pieces.
