Hello,
I am glad to be a new member with a 1980 Spider 2000. The information in this group has already saved me hundred of dollar and many man-hours of wasted time.
I have 2 questions:
1- Will 1975 Spider seats bolt into my 1980?
2- I have had a hazard switch failure and saw a fix to bypass the switch with a jumber wire in the connector. The fix said to connect the 2 purple wires opposite each other in the connector. The problem is that my 1980 doesn't have 2 purple wires, only one. What is the other wire color?
Any help would be appreciated

Fiat Questions- Seats & Hazard Light Switch
Re: Fiat Questions- Seats & Hazard Light Switch
1- yes
2- http://flumichigan.italiancarclub.com/T ... switch.pdf
based on my tummy right now, i would have to go with repair #2 on the list of four suggestions. But, long term, I would suggest either #3 or #1 for you.

Thanks Mike,
I always enjoy a good steak, but the toothpick turned out to be my pocket knife so I could drive the car home at night with no signals. I wanted to by-pass the switch get my signals back and drive it until the new switch arrives.

medium rare works best for me. and nope, it does not matter.. T-Bone, sirloin, NY Strip, or even a Philly Steak! S'long as you grab that toothpick on the way out the door.

Welcome to the forum Max. I'm not sure if your wire loom has the same color scheme as my '82, but here's a picture of mine showing how the switch was bypassed by the PO:
On mine it is the dk. blue to the lt. blue with silver bands that jumper.
If your colors are different, here's a picture of the back showing the relative position of the terminals. You can barely see the black marks at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions.
I took these pictures as I was installing the new hazard switch I got from Mark Allison (http://www.fiatspiderparts.com/), our outstanding moderator.
Click the thumbnails for the full size picture. Click the full size to expand it, if it needs it.
Hope this helps.

Hey Max,
Unless you are legally blind, then its OK, how about giving us a break on the billboard size type. I have to stand 10 feet away from my computer to read it. At least you didnot supply the blinking lights with it and for that I thank you. I know your name is Max, but do you have to do max type face?
Thanks

Right on Mike. I did make him put out his cigarette though, before he worked inside the car.
