Howdy from Tucson

Post by Palerail »

Howdy from Tucson. Mostly a Model A guy but now attempting to get a 1979 Spider roadworthy after a hard life and storage for 8 years. Have an '81 FI engine that may go in and will be looking for info and a few bits I may be missing.

Howdy back atcha. Welcome to the forum.
Looks like you'll be going FI in your Spider. You'll need a couple of manuals to help you get things up & running. One is Brad Artigues FI booklet here: http://www.artigue.com/fiat.php
You'll also find good wiring diagrams there.
Also, print out these useful diagnosis pages for the ECU and dual relay the Bosch L-Jetronic uses: http://www.wcmotors.com/personal/Fiat%2 ... agnostics/
Good luck, and post some pictures for us to see.

Howdy neighbor!!
I live down the road a piece in Sierra Vista. I've got a 1980 spider that I just got a couple of months ago. It's pretty much torn apart right but it's coming along pretty good.
I have found this forum to be a great source of info and I think you will too.
There's a lot of very knowledgeable folks here that can help with most any problem you might run into, on the spider anyway  .
Welcome aboard!

I'll try to put that on the calender. I usually don't go up there for the "tourist" stuff, but I think I can make an exception. I think I'll have the spider on the road by then. We can talk as it gets closer.

A belated welcome. I spent many happy days in Tuscon, and many wild nights in Nogales when I was on the Colorado College debate team (no comments from the peanut gallery).
Great top down weather there for your Spider.
Rev'em high and turn'em hard :D
