Re: door chime never stops
If the courtesy light goes out when the doors are closed I think the door switches are working correctly.
I would first disconnect the 2 pin connector from the ignition switch. That removes the "key in ignition" warning from the circuit.
The seat belt timer looks very similar to the other relays. If it were inadvertently swapped for the seat belt relay that might cause your problem. Looking at the contacts of the timer there is a + and - symbol. the relays do not have these symbols. The timer belongs in the socket that has wire colors: white/black, lt blue/white, Violet/white, drk blue/red. I would make sure its in the correct location.

Re: door chime never stops
Thanks, I am going to try a few things. I had only disconnected the courtesy light and def fan wires.
Light does stay on; need to find a "middle" spot for it to turn off.
also had a brown wire that I thought was the hot for the radio: hooked it up, with a fuse in line and the radio smoked and died. I hear people using the chime for the radio, but honestly, not sure where that hot wire is. admittedly, elec is a struggle for me.

Re: door chime never stops
Pretty sure the wire colors for the courtesy light are: white/black ground all the time
Black/violet Door switches
Red/black 12V all the time
The switch on the light switches the white/black and the Black/violet wires. The red/black wire is not switched.
The door switches are tied into the seat belt relay and chime circuit. Maybe the Black/violet wire is somehow permanently grounded causing your issue.
