Can anyone positively identify this item. It looks like a light to me, but I don't see how a bulb could work in this. It was located on the left side of the steering column with two wires going to it. If it is a light, what type of bulb does it use?
Any help is much appreciated.
Mystery Part
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: What is this?
It is for a light, but it doesn't accept a bulb. It accepts a cord with a light on the end of it. I tried sticking every conceivable bulb in that socket to no avail. Evidently this item is very rare and may have been an accessory. Alvon Elrod has the only one I've ever seen.

Re: What is this?
That looks like the courtesy light I took out of my '82. There is a bracket/holder under the dash behind the fuse panel that it goes into. Mine didn't have a bulb in it when I got the car and I never could figure out the use for three terminals. I got a universal light holder from Autozone that take a regular bulb and use it. My part is now resting on a shelf in the garage where it will stay until the 12th of never.

Re: What is this?
Thanks everyone for the responses. MIke, I appreciate the extra information about a lighted cord plugging into it.
I figured it was pretty rare when the guys at Bayless couldn't identify it. Looks like I'll take the route you took Ron and just get a universal light from Autozone.
Thanks again everyone!
