What is this bracket on the left of the steering column

What is this bracket on the left of the steering column

I found this bracket with dual pink (12v) wires going to it. It looks like something should go there, but not sure what. Here is a pic.

This probably isn't any help to you. I also have a 1969 Fiat 124 Spider. Just not seeing anything like that on my car.

You have the very rare "inspection lamp" socket. If you remove it, join the two pink wires or your hazard will not work.

That is really neat. I will keep it in the hopes I run across one of those inspection lamps some day.
