So recently I started noticing my radio would flicker on and off, what I did not realize that it included my dash, headlights and taillights.
Now it has gotten to the point when I start the car none of them turn on but while driving they sometimes will start randomly working again.
Blinkers and brake light still work as well as the hazard switch.
Headlights, rear running lights, and dash/instrument cluster do not.
It is a 77' if that help at all, I have replaced most of the fuses on the drivers side fuse box as well. Is there a main relay or something that could be causing this? Thank you in advance!

Re: Multiple Light Issues
I think there are 2 common components that could cause your issues. 1 is the "int" contacts in the ignition switch, the other is the 3 position dash mounted headlight switch. The headlights use fuses 3,4,5,6 and the dash and parking lights use fuses 7,8

Don't forget to clean the grounds and apply a light film of dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.

Also check the ground pods under the hood and dashboard. Many go insane chasing down ongoing issues many of which have their root cause in those ground pods getting dirty or loose causing hot wires and switch failures.
Re: Multiple Light Issues
So clean grounds in bay and check ignition switch connections. Maybe replace that?

Do you know if you have if you have an original Sipea ignition switch or is it a Lada replacement. The Lada switch has Roman numerals on the face the Sipea will have Sipea stamped on the face.

Ground pod under the dash as well as the grounding points in the trunk. It wouldn't be a bad idea to unplug all connectors and make sure they are clean and the apply a light film of dielectric grease there as well.Teletom wrote:So clean grounds in bay and check ignition switch connections.
