95 amp bottom bolt

Post by red107 »

Anybody have issues with the bottom bolt on the 95 amp alternator? I installed it and the bottom bolt is tight but its not snug. Its diameter is much smaller than the original bolt. I was thinking about a shim/collar/ to tighten it up. I remember post on a fix for this, but did a search and can't find it.

I believe the instructions with the unit suggest drilling out the mounting holes and using the original bolt. I'm shelf aging mine while I finish up some other work but I plan on drilling it out when I get to it.

Used original bolt as suggested. On a side note. I've had the AR 95 amp alternator for six years now with no issues at all. I think it was one of the best mods done to the car.
