Damage from Jack Stand Point

Hello Everybody,

I preemptively admit to my stupidity for either 1. doing something that damaged my spider, 2. worrying about nothing, or possibly both. Despite trying to do some research on where to put the jack stands when jacking up the right side rear of my spider, I couldn't seem to find a definitive answer. Being that I cannot put the jack stand on the jack point that I need to lift the car, I decided to put the stand on what I though was a secure structural rail. Now, if i am recalling correctly the rail looked a little warped before, but now I am worried that my jack placement has damaged that rail. If that piece is damaged, is in something that should/our could be fixed.

Cant see the photos. Are we talking front or rear?

Can’t see the photos, but for future reference, the cross member is a good jacking point for the front, and the diff is a good one for the rear.

I usually drive the front wheels onto Rhino Ramps, jack up the rear from under the diff, and then place stands at either end of the axle. If I need to take a front wheel off, I jack up the cross member, put stands under the member and the closest jacking point, and pull out that ramp, leaving the other ramp in place.

I use the jacking points as little as possible because I don’t trust them. Perhaps that is irrational.

Unless I am working on the cross member I use that as the jack point placing the jack in the middle and the stands on both sides of the jack and use the center of the diff with a wood block as a cushion on the jack plate and place the stands as near to the axle ends as possible.
