Hello all,
I've had this apart and back together a dozen times over the past 30 years but I am in the midst of a brain freeze. Since removing the air co and installing a new radio, things look less familiar. Can anyone tell me what the red connector noted in the attached pic is for? Any help would be appreciated.

At the risk of the asking the obvious, have you tried everything out to see if it's working properly? I'm wondering about your dimmer switch for example. I'd reconnect all the switches the way you *think* they go back together and then test each one out to see how they behave. You don't have to fully reassemble the console, just plug things back together well enough to test the circuit.

Re: 1983 Center console wiring
Thanks for the replies. Yes, bad link - I cant figure out how to post a pic.
Everything is connected - Dimmer, clock, window switches, hazard, cigar lighter, trunk release and the seat belt/gas sensor light. All dash connectors are also connected. There are 4 pins in the connector with grey/yellow, orange, black and a red/black wire to it.
Plan on chasing the wires out this weekend.
Thanks again, much appreciated.

The red connector is for a "European Provision" and unused in US models.
