Hi everyone,
Here's my fiat 124 spider. This car was imported to Spain in 90's and disassembled waiting for a restoration that never started.
Then was bought by another person who "repaired" the rust and assembled the car.
Apparently it was ready for painting.
Here there are a couple of photos of the car when I bought it:

Once at home we started disassembling the car.
Here we see how it was repaired:

Rear hood and fuel system removed:

Then the exterior:
About exterior mouldings I don't like them so we welded the holes.

Hola,
El color va a ser rosso cherry código F136 por si a alguien le interesa.
El color original del coche era azul pero el vano motor es rojo y el azul no me gusta.

En inglés:
Colour will be Rosso Cherry code F136 is someone wants to know.
Original colour was blue but engine bay is red and I don't like blue

While examinating the front wings we saw a few scratches so it's time to remove filler:

Let's cut!

Previous owner replaced inner and outer sills for a new ones, I really don't understand why he didn't repaired pillars too.
Sorry about that but at that moment I didn't took photos of the process.

Front wing and wheelarch almost finished:

And finished ready for primer:

that's a proper repair!

just hide the rusted out box sections that actually matter for car's rigidity

Yes, they changed sills but just hided the rust of the A pillar. Of ourse now it's well repaired but I don't have photos of all the process.

Redoing trunk wiring, it was in bad shape, hope now it will work.

Removing paint from the front and rear bonnets, correcting the few dents they had with TAS and finishing with some mastic:

Same with doors:

There's a few rust on the corner. Cut, weld, fill out with tin and polished.
Like body all primed with phosphate primer.

Doors and bonets already primed and ready for going to the paint shop.

After thinking about it I decided to buy chrome bumpers, I don't like rubber ones and I prefer to buy them now before paint the car.

One nut welded on each side of the car for the rear ones.
About the supports i bought them on ebay so they were easy to install.

Image

About front lights I found two that were very similar to the abarth ones and once fitted on the car they look so good.
I think that came from a seat 124 sport 1.8 .

After taking some measurements on each side:

Image

Also welded a nut on the front wings for screw the chrome bumpers:

And finally installed:

Image

Next installing the fuel tank with new hoses, braces, filter and electric fuel pump:
There you can see the rear bumpers installed too.

Image

Installing bonets, doors.... and the car was running again and ready for paint:

Meanwhile I found a 1967 fiat 124 AC spider and I bought it. Unfortunately it will be used for parts because I don't have the title (It has a chassis number and plates so maybe in a future if I found a body without rust I'll restore it) and the body is useless because of the rust

I was expecting to have a 5 gears gearbox and a extra 1.4 twincam engine for my 124 AC coupe but wat a surprise:

Image

2.0 engine from a fiat 131 racing and an abarth gearbox.

It also came with 15" wire wheels and 4*98 hubs. I'l sell them so if anyone here is interested...
