I hope to begin paint prep work over the winter and I know choosing an antenna is part of that process. I am curious what you guys have liked-I d love to see a few options.
I feel like I read in one post that there might be a hidden antenna option??

Can't tell you from experience but my plan for the car i am building is to leave the radio out. The antenna hole on the rear fender was filled before paint. Here is something similar to what I will use. The Spider we have now has a USB port for iphone and that is what we use for music, when we travel. It is a pain searching for radio stations with music we enjoy..

antenna options are many .... lots of options will fit the hole ..just a matter of preference .... I think my 81 is wired for and electric antenna that would go up and down when radio is powered on/off .... personally I have a sorta flexible black antenna ...about 18 inches long... and it unscrews for when I put a cover on it .... I like it because to me it gives the car a toy look ... like a remote antenna on a toy car .... car is dirty/dusty from a great late season of wonderful weather we are having ..but I can shoot a pic if you like ... but like I said .. tons of options will fit in the hole that I have in mine ...I also have a stereo that could input some type of device for music other than radio .... it also has Bluetooth and probably I use that the most ..streaming Pandora from my phone ... but will loose signal quickly in the mountains and appreciate that antenna option when I decide to have music .... others will also chime in about how great the car sounds and no music is needed at all ... It was the second retractable antenna I bought - the first was too big to fit in the space in the trunk (my antenna hole is on the back driver's side in front of the gas cap). This one is smaller and fit reasonably well.

This fit and I wired it to a switch to put it up when I'm listening to the radio. I will say that I've only had it up a couple of times in the last several years.

I installed a manual one. It pushes down to where you only see the button top. Up it is semi short and sporty looking. I don't care for the black looking short only style. This one is shiny like chrome or stainless. It was about $20.

I picked up a unit off Banggood for 20 bucks that is the same as the Metro powered unit fits our cars, I'll post pics once I get to that phase of my project work.

I wanted to eliminate the outside antenna and picked up this 14" rubber antenna at Advance Auto Parts for $10. Fed the antenna wire from trunk into the back seat through an existing hole and just laid the antenna on the seat. I can get every station from inside the garage.
