wiring loom connector cleaning

A lot of my wiring loom connectors were not conducting very well. as I had my wiring loom totally out of the car, I thought I would go through and clean all the connectors, I did not want any problems when I re-installed it back into the car. took me a week to complete
Here is how I did one of them



I used a T-pin to push on the little back tab and just pulled it out. I used copper cleaner and Emery paper to clean and then it just clicks back in



I think I counted about 100 pins all now with good contact.

WOW you really are a detail person. Thanks for your posts. Its great to see someone pay as much attention to the electrical in their car as they do the appearance like paint and upholstery. There seems to be a lot of cars out there that look good but part of the electrics is not working. Sorry to say but the problem is often lack of proper electrical maintenance. True what you are doing is beyond maintenance but it truly shows how much others are lacking in their expectations of reliable electric circuits.

Before reassembly, coat each connector, both male and female ends, with a light coating of dielectric grease. Do the same at the ground points and fuses and you shouldn't have any problems for years associated with poor conductivity.

Yes, I forgot to mention the Die-electric grease! if in doubt grease it Thanks for pointing that out!
