The sweet sound of power as you shift into 5th and blow the centre muffler apart.... rust was the culprit and I don't want to sound like someone in a modified Honda Civic.
I have an '81 with the 4 bolt flange. A centre muffler and rear muffler are on order and I'm hoping they aren't balled up in the potential Canada Post strike.
Is a gasket needed where the centre muffler meets the cat? Or is it simply a metal on metal fitting? I had to beat the two apart due to rust and didn't see anything that would suggest a gasket had been there in the past. The flange on the cat is still in good shape - nice and smooth and able to accept new bolts.

Re: Exhaust gasket
Nope, no gaskets. I put some anti-seize on the connections. Kirk
